European Union future member (in 2007). Croatia is a long time made nation, with an specific culture and circumstances, with its best and worst faces through History. But its not my interest in centring on this country’s prolific history, instead of its actual facts and possible future.
Let me say only one little date of XX Century. In the 40’s decade, meanwhile the second world war, the nation of Croatia had a big change: it became independent. Till that the nation of Croatia had been member of the Yugoslavian “federation”, lead by the nation of Serbia, orthodox religion, with whom Croatians shared the same language: Serb - Croatian. But with the “help” of the nation of Germany and an specific faction pro German in the proper Croatian country (always there will be a faction in a nation favourable to the one who leads the situation, whoever it could be).
One advice: do not think in that in the moment of the independence giving to Croatia the NSDAP (Nazis) were in the power of Germany. Because its a common international practice the giving of independence to a piece of land that we want or that is different of the other in moments of peace or war, fascism or “democracy” (poliarchy, as professor Dhal says). ¿Examples? 1904: Panama, independenced by United States because of the Panama Channel from Colombia. A Century before the land of Ecuador were separated from Peru. Now is the day when they are fighting each other. 1993: Czech and Slovak Republics were born from Czechoslovakia. 1917: Finland is born from the Soviet Union during the first world war. There are many strategic issues to make different Political movements in the international sphere.
After the German defeating in the war, the Soviet Red Army liberated the Balkan peninsula. The so called Yugoslavian “federation” was liberated itself because of the “Tito” Field Marshall. So the structure of the past state was re settled with the new unifying reinforced concrete: Communism. At least until the death of Tito in 1980.
Germany was (they really are) very interested in the Croatian friendship. As I said not because of a crazy nazi that had the strange idea of making a state over there to have friends in the area… They have strong vehicles of communication that are conduced by culture, customs, traditions and so. Western German Secret service during the Helmut Kohl (CDU) Chancellery initiated the contacts with the Croatians leaders. In a changing Yugoslavia, where the empower of some regions instead of the rest made possible, within the cultural issues, to separate a multiethnic and multinational state. Slovenia leaded that “race”. Those countries, by the way, were (and are) Roman Catholic ones, with a strong historical relationship (and influence from) the Austria Hungarian Empire or the Holy Roman German Empire: Germany, in sum.
Arms, sums of money, everything was sent to Support the Croatian rebellion against the Serbs, Soviet Union (Russian Federation from January 1992) allied. It had been a Ottoman zone of influence, more or less, since the beginning of XVI Century until the end of XIX Century. It ended because of the rising power of Russia in the region. Bulgaria will be eternally greeted to Russia of its Liberation from the hands of Turkish. And it wen on during the XX Century, including after the second world war. Of course that during those wars many of those territories (from Berlin to near Instambul or even Tbilisi were in hands of German Army. And many of those things can make a Mark in History.
When the 80’s reached to US the West wanted to take that region to him. The 1973 Oil crisis revealed the weakness of the West in energetic issues against other world nations. And they had no defense to affront that situation because the Oil is not in the west. It is in the former Soviet Union (Caucasian and Central Asia Republics) and, of course, the Middle East (lead by Wahabist Saudi Arabia and Baathist Iraq). And the West considerated a plan that has been completed now. The conquest of most of those Oil shafts.
We can see that “Western” companies (at least their leaders are Westerns) lead international corporation that explodes those shafts. And the control of the Balkans was deeply and strongly necessary to transport the Oil to the European Union (12 members then). Decisions are taken and after that we justify them and go on to plash it on Earth and every day politics (even it is Public or underground). And that is the chosen way to whole Balkans and why from the first day of Self determination election of the Republics of Slovenia and Croatia in 1991, the European institutions, lead by Germany approved and recognised the new states. The Political triangle of decision: Head, Heart or Soul. Choose who of them shall lead your decisions first of all.
Croatia was independent from then, 12 years ago. And initiated a European Union convergence process. To become a European member. In 1998 / 2000 the European Union initiated the process of adhesion to Slovenia, also a former Yugoslavian Republic. 10 new states entered the Union in the 1st of May 2004. The 29th of October the European Constitution will be signed in Rome (at the same room that the CEE treaty was signed in 1957). The 25 members of the actual European Union reached a compromise recently, after the Spanish new Prime Minister Election in 14th of March. Rumania, Bulgaria and Croatia, the new members of the European Family the 1st of January 2007 will be there as Observers. Its officially decided that it will be possible because the high progress of the nation (and maybe a little help of the German Support).A very beautiful country will be a part of US. In 2007. Economic prosper nation. ¿What about the Oil conspiracy, including the pipelines to feed the European Union? No care about it. The West controls
Serbia from the “Revolution” that “derogated” the Milosevic Presidency in 2000. Just after the last was against Serbia: Kosovo in April-June 1999. So the proper pipeline shall go southern than Croatia. And more over, in the proper Caucasian Republics and Central Asia, just because of the September eleventh United States reactions in Afghanistan and other sites (including economic ways of war), the West has reached to make possible the appropriating of the Oil shafts and the ways to take it an carry to everywhere in the world. Thanksgiving, of course, to the “War against Terror”. So that is no more a cleadvage in the Croatia “problem”. As i would have liked from the beginning. Only a nation. A community. And its want of development. Self Structure. And defense of what they are and think.
Only one more Special issue. If they have reached to this status… Why we can not have the same?
