Socialist Party got his objectives immediately. Only in 1995 french right was able to win presidency, with a President Mitterrand close to die. And in 1997 a Socialist Prime Minister, Lionel Jospin, was elected. But that is a dangerous politic, because there could happens everything. Like in 2002, where a divided and fragmented left was out from second round in french presidential elections, in favor of …. Le Pen!
A similar tactic was taken in Palestine on the end of the 80’s. Meanwhile the original Intifada was been born, Israeli leaders thought that they had to break the leadership of OLP and its President Arafat. They where moved in 1970 from Jordan into Lebanon, where they where expulsed in 1982, when the war Israel Lebanon took place. The OLP headquarters were in Tunisia. Far from Palestine, but close in the mind of the people. That is the place where the Israeli Government financed small groups that were fighting against the laic Arafat authority. They were called Hamas (it was not he only one). This was considered a tactical decision to implode the palestinian organization, so they could win their war.
