1973 is the year when every sense man and woman in this world realized that the viscose and dark substance known as Oil was the ingredient that fed the Western industry and the whole style of life. Why? Because the owners of that oil realized that they had the power to make a strength and deep influence in Europe, Japan and North America. To make their own porpoises go on successfully. We realized that they had the chance to make the world change as it was. Change the recent (1972) new war between the Israelis and the Arab nations (where an unconfess intervention of the sixth United States Navy fleet and airplanes made at last possible a Hebrew victory). War that some secret services of the western nations advised Israel that could happen. But nothing was made to prevent it. Oil was converted into an instrument of insurrection to the still remaining western economic colonial domination over the Muslims OPEP nations. And the west had a chance to react. By reforming its structures. Europe did it. But not successfully. United States even not tried to make this change of mind. That opportunity of real change was minusvalorized and finally lost.
In the beginning years of the XX century we can see the international birth of a nation. Saudí Arabia. Why this name? Because the ruler family of this nation comes from Saud. Prophet Muhammad made possible the “creation” of a Arab nation on the peninsula. In 1701 the future leader of the Wahabist revolution was born. But when XX century arrived the territory was divided (again) in many disperse tribes. With the coast dominated by the Phare of Muslims: Ottoman Empire. That is the Saudi Arabia that Tenant Lawrence “of Arabia” encountered when British headquarters in Cairo sent him to help those “alliades”. Lawrence did more than he was told for his concrete mission. He helped to make an Arab united nation. And after the war it was internationally recognized. Another British was sent to concretize the premiership of United Kingdom friendship, specially with the recent discovered new “material”: Oil. But it was bad for Great Britain, because the English one committed treason to the Empire in serving the Arab leaders, giving the concession to the United States in a better economic circumstances to the local peoples. This little example exemplifies clearly the complex situation of Oil in the Nearest Orient. The unstable and changing relationship in and with this region.
Every Human life wants the best for its children, whatever he may think or believe. And he will try everything he could to make it possible to him and its relatives. And he want to thing that its community, region, nation can be the best of the world. The best in universe. Prosperity and security. A good life for all. And he will try to defend its way of life. Or to create a better one. Against everything it may make it destroyed. To make finally Justice reign on the earth of his grandparents. It is the common link that unifies us. Proud, Honor, Respect. Our common needs and goodwilling aspirations for all of the family.
Western needs includes Oil and there are too little ways to acquire it in the West. Even if Norway is the World Wide highest exporter of Oil. As we know today there is Oil around the Persian Gulf nations, in the Caucasian region around Baku, Central ex Sovietic islamic republics, Venezuela, Nigeria … and also in Mexico, United Kingdom or United States. But the future is not in Oil. Even it could be discovered new regions in Cuba, close to Canary islands, in the Gibraltar Strait, in the far East seas or wherever it may discovered. Because today is the day when we are involved in a war against Terror where Oil has a special participation. They tell us also that many problems are being upraising around the lands with Oil. It is the fight for the latest reserves of the black gold in the world. And it is only the Beginning …
But today it is a different way. Unknown. We are approaching into the end of the actual form of life. Because our is a non “terrestrial” type of “economics”. No real production. All for “growth”. Something similar happened in the former Soviet Union, where it was more important to reach to the one million nails made level than the porpoise to those million nails. It is a type of capitalistic totalitarism, because there is “no” alternative. At least not a complex an holistic one.
That could comprehend all the camps of life. All situations. And with no opposition every system in this world has tended to do “what I want, when I want, where I want, how I want and why I want”. And that is the today’s relationship between the states and the Oil companies. Companies that are multinationals. Or like I prefer to call them: Parastates. They play as they want and we can see things as strange as about the stock exchange. One day the level rises up because of Oil. The other falls because of Oil. And the gasoline never stops rising. And we all must know that almost everything that u can think is made with oil and its derivatives. Like the plastic that needs this pen with I am writing to be made.
The peoples of the world sees that his community is poor, but its land is rich. Watches through the new technologies the life in the North, in the Western civilization. And there are two possibilities. One is migrate there. The other is fight for their own land. Maybe the ways are incorrect and horrible, but poorness and injustice makes insurrections and wars. The deep causes. The roots of the real background conflict. The distance North - South, as it was certainly said in the 1979 United Nations committee inform.
Now we have still the power to make a certain change of economic growth and system. Leading a new revolution into a new post modern view of economy, politics and, finally, life. A new innovation to the world. Make our needs a new glory to our History. It “only” requires a strong decision to go forward into this. But no one in future can dude about this one shall be the phase that saved the West and the whole Earth.
